Frequently asked questions

Are IAESTE internships paid?
Yes. Every on-site internship is paid by the employer, at minimum a cost-of-living allowance that covers accommodation, food and local travel. Interns pay their own international travel.
Who can apply for an IAESTE internship abroad?
Students enrolled in a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD programme, or who graduated within the last year. Students from 160+ nationalities can take part, including from countries without an IAESTE committee.
How long do IAESTE internships last?
From six weeks to twelve months, and sometimes up to eighteen months. On-site and remote internships are available.
How can my company hire an IAESTE intern?
Tell IAESTE what you need: field, specialisation, level of study, experience, languages and duration. Candidates go through a three-step selection, and you choose who to hire. The local IAESTE office supports you with work permits, visas, accommodation and reception.
Can an IAESTE internship lead to a permanent hire?
Yes. Many employers use IAESTE internships to find future employees, and IAESTE can also connect companies with recent graduates who already have international work experience.
